Moms in Tow will be present for the Plaster Creek Park race. Bundle up the little ones and let them race the Strider bikes on the mini cross course while Dad is taking on the big race!
We have secured a venue for the season finale in Holland. Window on the Water Front Park right behind Velo City Cycles!
Gales of November came rushing through Markin Glen yesterday but that didn’t keep the old faithful and tons of first timers from enjoying the cross racing. Spectators were out in force too, loud as ever.Might of had something to do with the 2 kegs of beer near the sandbox and yes the Bell’s ran out first. Kazoo cross racers love their Two Hearted.
This weeks move up include: Tom Barrett, Jake Grevenstuk, Jesse Riegle, Russ Greenwood, George Swanzy, Eric Winler, Sean Kennedy, Greg Vosters, Art Schneidt, Grant Kasten, Andy Klumb.
The Tricats and Pedal Bikes are the race hosts/sponsors this Sunday and they will be providing 200 brats and a keg each of Bells Two Hearted and Founders Centennial IPA. First keg empty declares the cross racers favorite! Weather looks fantastic and the course is not to be missed.
This Sunday looks like an Indian Summer kind of day! 66 degrees for November cross? Crazy.
Markin Glen costs $5 for parking, we will cover that for you just print a copy of the parking pass and hand it to the gate attendant.
Also, here is the registration form for Markin Glen, don’t forget everyone needs to fill this out and you need two of them if you are racing twice.
Eric Hune, Bart VanderHammer, Mike Vanderberg, Brian Neely and Chris Muller.
I just wanted to remind everyone that the Bianchi frame is up for raffle. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20. All proceeds will be donated to the Western Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance’s 50 in 5 campaign. The goal is to add 50 more miles of single track trails in West Michigan in the next 5 years. Trails like Merrell, Cannon Township Trail, the Ski/Game Connector, Shore Acres, Upper Macatawa, Ken-o-Sha, Richmond and Wahlfield. All of these are either completed, being built right now or ready to go in 2013! But trails take money, so purchase some tickets and you might win a Bianchi and for sure your donation will go to more trails!
We are still struggling with a fast and smooth registration. Next week I would like everyone to fill out a form at the separate table provided. If you have raced with us before, look up your race number on the list provided at the same table. Write your number in the box provided on the registration form. Make sure you print your name clearly and that you check the box for your race category. If you are racing two races you will need two forms and two separate numbers. If you already know your number you can save time by doing this step at home with the registration form provided later this week. You can also make out any payment checks in advance, make them out to Kisscross Events. One last thing, please wait patiently for your turn and don’t leap frog the line to try and save time, it only makes things run slower and confuses the registration volunteers.
